Ryker’s Holiday Shopping Guide

We’re down to the wire, boys and girls! Do you know where your Christmas presents are?

I know shopping can be hard in Second Life, so I’ve decided to take the route my good friend Nexeus Fatale has taken, and make my own little Holiday Shopping guide for the masses. Maybe you’ll want my opinion, maybe you won’t… but I’m gonna give it to you anyway!

Now, I have to say that most of my friends are either the easiest ones to shop for, or the hardest. There really is no in-between. Artists, builders, creators, designers… we thrive on our creativity and sometimes that can be hard to encompass into a Christmas gift, know what I mean? So instead of going by the old addage, “This is what you should get for THIS type, this is what you should get for THIS type”… I think I will simply go down an eclectic list of a few of my favorite gadgets that I think would make excellent, last minute gifts for that special someone.

These two toys have to be the coolest things I’ve seen in SL, hands down, bar none, with a big fat cherry on top. Make your own books in Second Life. I can’t even begin to explain the limitless possibilities you will have with this contraption. I’ve made photo albums, modeling and art portfolios, shop catalogues, brochures, magazines… let your imagination run wild. And at its price, it will provide the creative types you know with hours of entertainment, not to mention the satisfaction of creation.

• Bright Inventory Organizer (SLEX, OnRez)

Because all of us need a little help with our inventory now and then. Besides… where would we be without MORE SHIT to add to our inventory? :P

• HUDDLES EZ Animator Deluxe (SLEX, OnRez)

If you don’t have one of these already, you should seriously think of picking one up for yourself, let alone everyone else you know. Call it a necessary little Christmas spoilage of self. Perfect for people that love to change AOs the way they change underwear (hopefully), or models that need a place to house their 3,000 poses for easy access. Again, endless possibilities on this dandy little tool.

• FaceFX Designer Facelight (SLEX, OnRez)

Perfect for anyone that gets tired of those damn shadows that appear whenever the sun changes direction. Excellent for taking portrait shots.

• N30 Deluxe Modeling Studio (SLEX)

Again with the modeling and photography! You’d really need to read the description on this one, but… it rocks. And if you’re not using it, you can always change the background to a stylish drop of Paris at night… and it will make excellent ambiance for your studio or home.

• MystiTool HUD (SLEX)

This has to be one of my most favorite, addiction, incredibly useful gadgets of all time… if for no other reason than being able to know exactly who is within 96 sq m of me at any given time. This incredible, INCREDIBLE little tool also includes a teleport history, favorite locations storage (for up to 45 locations!), flight assistance, landmark management, facial emote controls, and a TON more. I couldn’t even sit here and describe to you just how freaking cool this tool is. You really should get it, for yourself and a friend.

• The DJ Tool Tower Single User (OnRez) / Multi User (OnRez)

A necessity for all DJs. Comes equipped with a request management system (listeners can submit requests for the DJ to view, delete, and keep track of), an announcement tool (the DJ may keep a notecard inside the tool to shout announcements periodically), a tip jar to keep track of tips, and more. Available in both multi-user and single user! This is seriously one of the best gifts you could get anyone you know that DJs.
