I know I suck and haven’t been blogging as much recently, but OMG I’ve been so busy working on my spring line, and meeting photo requests that I just haven’t had time! I promise, I have a few reviews in the works… one for the absolutely GORGEOUS Beauty Avatar skins, and a second for a FANTASTIC line of silks.
I am about to run off to work, but before I do, I wanted to make a quick mention for all you shoe whores out there:
Ignite Nightfire of Arcane (SLURL, blog) has really taken his new passion as a content creator by storm! If you get the chance today, DEFINITELY head on over to Truth Island and pick up one of these two babies:

I must say that the Newtown cork wedges are to DIE for, and the pumps are bloody fantastic. Each pair is available in eight different colors, or as a TEXTURE CHANGE (which is also bloody awesome). The shoes are available for $225L per pair, or $800L for the full texture change! *ALSO* Bonus…. if you join Truth’s subscribe-o-matic, you’ll receive a pair of the Newtown cork wedges in Lead for FREE!
Another thing I’d like to mention is that Truth (blog, SLURL) has also released MOAR NEW HAIR!!! *drools* Jennifer is most definitely my favorite this time around…

I am simply in love with all of these newest releases, and I especially can’t wait to see what other goodies are in store for the future. Mmm Mmm MMM!!!
I was incredibly surprised on my little shopping excursion today. So surprised and delighted in fact, that I had to hop onto my blog and tell everyone all about it. Are you ready? Here we go.So, my husband text messages me this morning asking me to find a grim reaper costume for a photo idea that he has. So naturally, my first stop is OnRez… a simple place to search for damn near anything you could ever hope for (along with SLExchange, but that’s a different story). I type in “grim reaper” and what comes up but one of the most perfect reaper scythes I’ve seen in game thus far. Of COURSE… I rush right out in-world to buy it (I don’t know why I do this… I much prefer to buy items in world than from OnRez… but OnRez is the perfect “searching” spot!). I was pleasantly surprised to behold the other treasures that tickled my fancy (or should that be “fantasy”?) when I popped into this charming little shop — Tekeli-li Dark Artistry (SLURL, OnRez).
Now, being an artist first and foremost, I was initially inspired to look around more by the fact that the store calls itself “dark artistry”. But what really caught my eye… was the fantasy hair-dos and SPECTACULARLY detailed jewelry collection available in this quaint little tucked-away store.
The first thing I thought was, “Okay, how have I never heard of or seen this place before?” I’m really starting to think I don’t shop enough (but my inventory begs to differ). Le sigh. The second thing I thought was, “ZOMG, I must have those.” And so I quickly purchased the Oracle, Predator 2, Youkai 2, Medusa, Lovecraft, and Juno scripted styles.

I bought every hair style in the place (I think). Now, before I go into too much detail, I want to reiterate that this is a FANTASY shop… all of the hairstyles are fantasy related. While that remains true, I also want to stress that these styles (while the hair textures are lacking in some colors) are BEAUTIFULLY done, not to mention fantastically detailed and ornamented.

Because of my ridiculous art and photography addiction (haven’t you noticed yet?), I just had to have the hair — my favorite of which is, hands down, the beautiful Predator 2 style. And can I stress… EXCELLENT name for the style. Simply love it. And how very fitting *chuckles*.
Among other things, I also purchased 3 wonderfully detailed jewelry sets: Morgana, Hecate and Nereid. All of these sets run around $350L for eight pieces per set (with the exception of Nereid which is 6 pieces). I do have to say that the Nereid set is very well done… a compilation of sculptie seashells and starfish. Quite gorgeous. And get this…
As if the hair and jewelry detail and ornament wasn’t enough…
All of these pieces (hair included) are SCRIPTED. You have the options of buying the hair in individual colors (unscripted), or for a measly $300L you can buy a version that is scripted to change both the hair textures (32+ available colors), hair gems (30+ available colors) AND hair metals (7+ available colors), giving these hair styles an incredible diversity I have yet to see done in other hair shops.
And to top it all off, the owner of my new favorite fantasy shop is the sweet Tekelili Tantalus — and let me TELL you, customer service is definitely her forte’. I was an idiot earlier today while at her shop, and accidentally purchased 3 of the Medusa styles without realizing the diversity of the scripted version. After purchasing the scripted version, Tekelili took it upon herself to IM me, point out that I had purchased both the scripted and nonscripted versions of the Oracle hairstyle and promptly refunded $345L once she explained that I no longer needed the 3 colored versions I had purchased because the scripted version allows for all of those colors, and more! For that, Tekelili, I love love love you. You are my new favorite person. I shall sacrafice live Godiva chocolates in honor of your name.
So this is my shopping story!!! What started out as a hunt for the perfect Grim Reaper scythe, ended with a visit to a spectacular fantasy hair and jewelry store that I feel absolutely no shame in promoting to the fullest: check it out. You’ll love it. Tekeli-li Dark Artistry (SLURL, OnRez).
PS: A special thank you to you Tekelili, for giving me the perfect hair for my latest inspiration:
Just in time for Valentine’s Day…
First and foremost, I’d like to say - I am such a bitch. I can’t believe it took me this long to get this review up here, despite that it’s been sitting in my “for review” folder for over a month now. For that, I PROFOUNDLY apologize. I got so busy, and had a whole wedding to plan in like a week, and a class to put on, and a shop to organize, and and and… well, you get the idea. But all is not lost (I hope)! These dandy little numbers are just in time for that risque Valentine’s Day look I’m sure several ladies out there will be trying to achieve at one point or another this week — in the club, or in the bedroom!
With all of that said, I’d like to present you with the very fantastic designs from the mind of Erik Hugo, of Hugo Designs (SLURL). Click for larger photo:
This man has been incredibly patient with me, and frankly I wouldn’t deny him the chance to pimp slap me all over the grid, or cover me in peanut butter and set me out for the birds to peck at, for not getting this all up sooner. But better late than never, right? And besides, after taking another look at his shop, I have to say that I am ashamed for not bringing this to you sooner!
The thing that caught my eye most with these designs was not the skimpy and revealing nature of most of them (though that did play a part!), but rather Erik’s rather creative use of drop shadows and lighting on the clothing. I always love it when designers add little details like this… drop shadows, realistic highlights, the mark of any true artist in my book. As an artist first and foremost, I always feel confident when saying that God is in the details, and the designers that take the time to add the subtle ones the way Erik has are aces.
The fantastic outfits you’ll see pictured above are, from left to right, Tiana in White (which also has a GORGEOUS camisole included in the set that is not pictured), Lita in Black (the panties are not included, but are a piece of another set in Erik’s shop called Jane), The Classic in White (all pieces pictured in picture three and four above are included in the set), and Ava in Red. My favorite of the group so far has to be the Classic, but I have to say, despite that I haven’t had the chance to snatch it up yet, the latex this man has been rolling out with is rather impressive (click for larger photo):
I have one word: Yummy.
If you’re not completely convinced yet, I’d like to invite you all to drop by Hugo Designs (SLURL) and check it out for yourself. With prices ranging from $95L to $395L+ and the little details I hold so dear (drop shadows, *drool*), this place is definitely one for the landmark huddles. I do hope to see Erik get more into class lingerie as well… I can never get enough of that! *hint hint*
Now, while we’re on it… I’d also quickly like to share with you the FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC hairdo I’m wearing too (pictured right, click for larger photo). This is the Kaori hairdo from a little shop called H2L (SLURL) on one of the (many) fantastic Japanese sims. I tell you, those Japanese sims are a haven for the fashion trends awaiting to happen. I have no idea if this has been blogged yet or not (I know I’ve seen a few of the men’s hairstyles from H2L mentioned on SL Men), but if you have never been to this shop: you simply must drop by and grab this hair style. It’s a little pricey at $350L per color, but it is WELL worth it in my opinion. I didn’t really see any other styles there that tickled my fancy (and really there are only about 10 styles, half of which are men’s, in the whole shop), but who knows, YOU may!
And last, but certainly not least, all poses in the above photos (excluding the ad shots from Hugo Designs) are provided by DILEMMA (SLURL). Creator Roxana Demina is really on a roll with these new poses, titled the Glitz and Glam set. You are only seeing three in the above photo, but there are ten in this particular set, ALL of which are FANTASTICALLY chic modeling poses — with just the right touch of oomph and attitude.
Some fantastic shopping opportunities here, ladies! What’s better for an impromptu Valentine’s Day card for your honey than a shopping trip for some sexy little outfits, a new hairdo, and some seductive poses? And for you anti-Valentine’s Day girls and guys out there, go ahead and treat yourself anyway. All this fabulousness is not to be missed!
I’ve recently discovered something about myself. I LOVE winter clothes. I mean, really love them. Sweaters, jackets, pea coats, I love them all. But these following five outfits that I’m about to show you have become staples in my wardrobe. You’ve undoubtedly seen them on me before, and I’m sure you will see them on me again if you have. But they’re just so cute I had to share, in detail, everything about them.
*NOTE: These aren’t necessarily new releases, or even the latest trends… but they are definitely some of my own personal favorite outfit mash ups. I hope you enjoy. The list below will follow the image left to right! :)

Outfit #1: The Girl Next Door
This outfit is so simple and chic that I just adore it. The white cords are fantastic, because I just can never find a good pair of white pants… and these fit the bill perfectly. I get a warm fuzzy feeling just looking at this outfit, and it always draws compliments whenever I wear it. Who doesn’t love cropped cable knit sweaters, after all? Especially the pink ones… *heart*

Outfit #2: The Manhattan Project
I always feel so “chic” when I wear this outfit. Like I belong on Broadway with a little pocket pooch in my Gucci carry bag, calling people “dahling” and shtuff. Pardon me, do you have any grey poupon?

Outfit #3: Lazy Sunday Afternoon
This has to be one of my most favorite outfits, ever, bar none. The sweater is simply to DIE for and is completely modifiable so I was able to tweak it to my absolute perfect liking (being the anal perfection whore that I am). The full outfit, Maia, is Bare Rose so not only is it well made, it’s also cheap as hell — any one that’s shopped at BR knows this. And to top it all off, the sweater comes in three different colors (white, black and brown). I just LOVE chunky sweaters!
Whole Outfit: “Maia” (in White) by Bare Rose (SLURL) — box also includes a black and brown sweater
Hair: Alexandra III in Black by ETD (SLURL)
Shoes: Analisa Boots in White by Tesla (SLURL) — *NOTE: These boots have been modified to be higher than normal. They are usually mid-calf.

Outfit #4: Christmas Party Queen
I have to say that I’m really loving these designers that have started making one prim sculptie skirts. It really cuts down on some of my lag issues. I know that’s ridiculous, but it’s totally true! And I love the white fringe of this dress — just another elegant and beautiful creation by Bare Rose. Anyone could rock it out at any Christmas (or New Years!) party in this awesome little concoction.
Dress: “XXL” from Bare Rose (SLURL)
Hair: Carmina in Black from ETD (SLURL)

Outfit #5: Hockey Mom
Okay, so I’m not a mom (yet). But what’s wrong with wearing an ensemble that could easily be considered not only perfect hockey mom attire, but also total MILF-wear? Nothing wrong with being motherly, sexy and warm all at the same time, right? Right.
Sweater: Tartaruga Sweater in Yellow by Caliente (SLURL)
Pants: Ripped Jeans in Faded by Wrong (SLURL)
Hair: Secret in Smoke by Abyss (SLURL)
Shoes: Chic Christmas Shoes by Skin Within (SLURL) — *NOTE: These are a Christmas freebie! Grab them while you can!
Necklace: Fancy Dice by Artilleri (SLURL) — *NOTE: These are scripted for color changing!

Hope you enjoyed this tiny (believe me… it WAS tiny) trip through my wardrobe! It’s definitely true what they say… a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes… or clothes… or hair… or jewelry… or… *trails off into the distance with her wallet dragging behind her*
No girl I know is a stranger to Diversity Hair (SLURL, OnRez) which is why I’m so happy and flattered to be doing this review. I’ve been a long time fan of this particular hair shop, and considering that they’ve just redone a good chunk of their textures, I’m even more psyched.
I was asked by delightful store manager Sasy Scarborough to take a look at a few styles and offer my feedback (this was over two weeks ago now.. I am SO SORRY it’s taken so long!), and I was so thrilled when I got my review copies that I almost died. The hairs are FANTASTIC, and are available in a multitude of colors and styles. Styles are sold in shade packs for $175 (for four variations of one color) to $300 (for six to nine specialty shades).
I’ll start out by saying that you CAN have demos sent to your avatar through the OnRez storefront. Go shopping and enjoy a lag free experience whilst you decide which hair you must, must, must buy! Lord knows I love convenience… and I think this is why sites like OnRez and SLEX are so brilliant. Lag free shopping?! Sign me up!
Now on with the hair…

I received five styles to review: Alexi, Jasmine, Laura, Penelope and Sydney. Of the five I’d have to say that my favorite is, hands DOWN, Penelope - a flirty little messy side bun that accentuates my avi-face beautifully. If you’ve seen me in game lately, you’ve likely seen me sportin’ this style with some serious attitude. What’s nice about this ‘do is that it’s casual enough to wear with my ratty jeans, but elegant enough to wear with a cute little summer dress. I just love that kind of diversity… no pun intended. ;)
Jasmine is a perfect little braid that drops off to the left of the face, with a cute little color changing hair tie. What I like about this style is the bangs: they’re so beautifully wispy and chic and don’t fall flat down on your forehead. For some reason, I feel like THOSE types of bangs make me look goofy… but I love the bangs that have a little “style” to them. These definitely accomplish that.
Laura, a beautifully elegant bun, would look perfect with damn near any evening gown or cocktail dress your inventory can produce. It also sports the same wispy bangs, and many tendrils of curl that shape the face beautifully. The bun is perfectly round and sits atop the head nicely, and is actually larger than most bun up-dos I’ve seen that weren’t beehives. No matter the occassion, this style is sure to draw stares, not to mention requests for landmarks!
Sydney is a positively ADORABLE bob with stunningly detailed flexi hair accentuating its cut. This has quickly become one of my favorite hair styles for my casual little tomboy looks. The color changing side-barret is a cute little addition to a fantastic style.
Now, the only style I didn’t really like a whole lot was Alexi… and not because it’s not well done, but because I don’t feel that it shapes my avi’s head very well. It could just be the shape of my head! But I sort of think it makes me look a little … “egg headed”. I LOVE the side detail, and the back, but the front just doesn’t suit my palette when it comes to the way I look for hair to accent my face. KnowwhatImean? But regardless, give the demo a try!
Diversity (SLURL, OnRez) is FULL of many, MANY styles, and these are just five of the spectacular product they have to offer. If you’ve never seen their store, what’s wrong with you?! Get yer butt over there! If you HAVE… then drop by again, because between new releases, new textures, and overall quality at $175L per shade pack (four color variations!)… you just need to have this. And girls, you know what I’m talkin’ about… you can never have enough hair!
Ricky, you got some ’splainin’ to do!!!
I don’t know why, but I just love that line.
Anyway, I’m back!!! I know you all missed me dearly (right? RIGHT?). Hahaha. Wow, this last week was fun and full of traveling mishaps. I’ll spare you the nitty gritty but to sum it all up, this Thanksgiving I drank way too much, ate way too much, spent WAYYYYY too much time in airports, and didn’t get nearly enough time with family as I would’ve liked. But… it was a blast. And I had a great time. Anyone interested in hearing the whole truth and nothing but the truth? IM me. It’s a lot of talking!!!
However, now that I’m back to the blogging experience, I am here to tell you that I’ve been MISSING OUT on some CRAZY goings-on… and I’d love to share them with you before I rush off to spend all of my lindens, which I am apparently prone to doing.
First off… freebies. FREEBIES!!! I’m saying, freebies. There are lots of them in SL. You know it, I know it… it’s kinda the norm. However, I managed to run across one in particular that struck my fancy as I’m sure it may yours. Given my unnatural love for butterflies, I thought this was an incredibly appropriate ring to buy for myself (seeing as how no one wants to buy one FOR me… *pouts*) and it’s just so cute I had to have it. Best of all it doesn’t bling which gets you an A+ in MY book. You too can pick up this little cutie (as well as some free diamond studs and free Rubiks Cube earrings) over at Cailyn’s Classic Jewelry (SLURL). Be sure to check out her other jewelry too as it is well worth the gander. Future review, perhaps? Hmm. *ponders*
Diversity Hair (SLURL) has finally opened their new island “Addictive”, not to mention switched half of their hairstyles over to the newly reworked textures. Culled from the Diversity blog:
Over half of the current styles have been changed over to the new textures but I am still working on the rest. We decided to open as soon as possible to get you into the comfort of a non laggy shopping experience , and decided rather than fill the store with all the styles in the old textures I would put out what ones are finished and add to the store as the remaining are completed. Sorry if this is inconvenient , but I decided it was better to not have customers buying old textures when there are new ones to be had. Notices will be sent out when more styles are added but for now I hope you love the new textures as much as we all do! I have also added FOUR hairstyles to the 1L section so now there are 3 womens styles and 1 unisex style in mega packs at just 1L to the right of the entrance!
Claudine Jewell, over at CJ Hair (SLURL) has released a new black and red version of the Xtina hair style that I adore so much! I fully encourage everyone to hop on over to CJ Hair and pick it up! It’s fantastic. The black and blond version is quite lovely too. Both versions can be yours for the very low price of $85L per style. What’s not to love about that? I mean, really. If you’re not convinced that you should grab this hair style, feel free to read my review of CJ Hair! I could tell you how fantastic her stuff is all night, I tell you!
Sy Designs‘ new store (SLURL) is ready and raring to go with several new sale items up for grabs as well as new releases, including these stunning polo shirts. I have to say that I am guilty of spending at least $500L in this store, and while I’m not the biggest fan of the leather pants in this store, I am EXTREMELY happy with the fantastic tank tops I’ve managed to grab… and everything is SUPER cheap… it is a bargain shopper’s dream. Everything is lovely and nicely made, so if you’re looking for a new place to shop and have yet to see this little gem of a shop, feel free to check it out! Guys, there’s also some cute things in here for you too, so don’t hesitate to follow the crowd of screaming females!
Another fun thing to note… Ohana Isle is having a treasure hunt! While I personally have never even heard of Ohana Isle, I am all about a freebie treasure hunt. Especially ones that involve clothing and shoes. Some details:
Over the past several weeks the shop owners and residents here on Ohana Isle have been hard at work creating goodies for you to search for. Clothing, shoes, accessories, tattoos, decor, furniture….the list goes on and on. All original designs…. no second hand junky freebies here!
You can find the 50 numbered Leaves scattered about Ohana Isle (SLURL):
……simply find them, buy for L$0, and the treasure inside is yours.
The hunt will be open from Friday November 23rd through Sunday December 2nd.
Woo! How’s that for an update? I missed you guys!
Anyone that knows me, knows one of two things: the first, I change my clothes. A LOT. My wardrobe is ridiculous, and if you catch me in game, I will often change 3 or 4 times before settling on an outfit to wear. You also know that even if I DO settle on an outfit, there’s no guarantee that I’ll remain satisfied with said outfit — which often results in my changing AGAIN… and the cycle goes on.
The second thing you will inevitably know about me, especially if you know the first, is I like hair. I have what seems like a bazillion different hairstyles, in black alone (my color of choice). Which brings me to my post for today. My very first review! On … dun dun dun … hair!!! CJ Hair to be more specific.

I’ve seen this particular little shop circulating the blogosphere once or twice, so I decided to stop in and check the place out, as I’ve never been there (omg) and we all know that I just NEED MORE HAIR! So, I made the conscious decision that I was going to stop in, buy the best two styles I saw, and that was IT, because dammit I gotta stop SOMEWHERE… *fat chance*.
I’ll start out by saying that it is a quaint little store, tucked away in a surprisingly lagless little shopping district. The store is sparsely furnished (thank god — prim heavy shopping districts REALLY suck) and nicely laid out. There are only about eleven styles total in the shop, which is unfortunate, because they’re all so lovely… however, a store’s gotta start somewhere, right? So, without further ado, lets get down to the nitty gritty.
I’ve been looking for up-dos a lot lately, so the first thing I noticed when I walked in were the few she has available. I immediately purchased the demo of “Belle” and tried it on. With a little tweaking, I must admit, it looks beautiful atop my rather oddly shaped head. Being rather satisfied with this style, I decided on the purchase… for $85L!!! A steal. *buy*
The texture, while a little dark, is pretty decent, along with the highlights it sports. The black shade that I purchased could do with a tiny, tiny bit more highlighting (the blond demo I tried on was lovely), but other than that, really nice work. And, as with all designers, we all get better with time — so I imagine the best is yet to come! I should also probably mention that all styles come in a “large” and “regular” size, I imagine to better fit the shapes of our heads. Hahahaha. Brilliant thinking like that.
Moving right along to the longer hairs — three caught my eye in particular: “Grace“, “Summer“, and “Kia” (see? I’m already breaking my two-styles-only rule). I immediately purchased the demos, naturally, and busted them out. Grace’s and Kia’s demos came in a lovely java chip brown color and looked very flattering on my skin tone. Grace is a lovely longer style, wispy and beautiful while Kia is a fantastic long ponytail with a color changing headband. Summer’s came in a ginger red (very natural looking, I might add). All three designs are beautiful and elegant. Because of my three style rule, I actually decided on purchasing “Summer” in my favorite shade of black, which I’m happy to say looks STUNNING… it must just be the up-dos that need a tiny bit more highlighting. Because the longer hairs are FANTASTIC in their flexibility and texture-y goodness.

After patrolling the hairstyles on the wall, I took another quick peek around the store to find a couple of jewelry sets, and yet ANOTHER hairstyle that I REALLY WANTED……… but I must remain true to my two styles rule this week… *waits anxiously for next weekend* I can’t help it. I just have to have it. It’s THAT good. It’s called “Xtina” and is, what I can only imagine to be, a hairstyle inspired by Christina Aguliera. But it’s wonderfully done (as you can see) and only comes in one color — blond/black. Fantastic. Love it. Beautiful. *j’adore* In a nut shell, I am really looking forward to more of what this designer, Claudine Jewell, will produce in the future. I fully encourage all of my fellow hair-fiends to run out and visit CJ’s store. At $85L a color, you just can’t go wrong!
I’ve caught wind of a couple of pre-holiday sales happening on the grid. At a couple of fantabulous stores!
Yes, that’s right. Two stores, two $100L sales!!! *pulls out the checkbook* Get to shoppin’! Although, please note that I actually have no idea how long these sales are lasting… so the sooner you get there, the better!
